For the second year in a row, Ms. Converset was invited by the Iowa Lean Consortium to speak at the Lean Summit held in Des Moines, Iowa, in October 2018.
After conducting a seminar on Operational Excellence in Support Services (Lean in Support Services), she presented to a large audience (above 200 people) the objectives and principles of the deployment of objectives: “Why Hoshin Kanri (Policy Deployment), a Key Pillar of Your Lean Management System, is critical in deploying a True Company-Wide Strategy of Excellence.”
Ms. Converset presented Hoshin Kanri: Why and how to align the whole organization in the same direction, give consistency to the areas of improvement and translate the objectives of the company into practical actions at team level.
She showed, based on a concrete example, how this structured deployment is one of the pillars of a Lean management system (motion by Productivity)
She shared her experience and gave advice on the steps to follow:
- How to start?
- What are the different possible levels of deployment?
- What are the necessary conditions?
- Which problems are most often encountered?
Many participants attended this session to get concrete elements to help them in the way to manage their business.
